How do I update/delete my listing?

Once you have sold your item or, if you need to change the details, go to "Edit My Account" under the Members' Menu to update/delete the listing accordingly.

Is payment for goods made via the website?

No, payments are made directly to the vendor – MyLocalExchange’s role is only to be the venue for the marketplace.

Does it cost anything to sell my goods on My Local Exchange?

No, it's free to sell – MyLocalExchange has no listing fees & no selling fees.

Does it cost anything to become a member of MyLocalExchange?

No, membership is free, so join today!

Do I have to be a member to use the MyLocalExchange site?

No, however you will not be able to list any items for sale or receive our quarterly newsletter.

What do you do with my personal details?

We take your privacy very seriously:

  • We do not publish your email address on the website
  • We do not share your details with any other company for marketing purposes
  • We will only send you our quarterly newsletter if you request it

Does MyLocalExchange guarantee the work of the tradesmen listed on the site?

No, the trade directory does not come with any guarantees. "Tried & Tested" businesses are those that have been recommended to us by the MyLocalExchange community.

How do I advertise my business on MyLocalExchange website?

If you know a member of MyLocalExchange community then you can ask them to recommend you to us, or click on "List My Business" in the right hand menu and fill in the form.  Alternatively, contact us directly at info@mylocalexchange.co.uk. We will contact you if we need any further information.

Is it free to list my business on MyLocalExchange?

At the moment as an introductory offer, the first 12 months are free, but we ask you to offer our members special deals to encourage them to work with you. 

I am organising a charity event, how can I get my event included on the ‘What’s On’ page?

My business has a deal, how can I promote it?

My photos are too big to upload from my iPhone/iPad

There is a 2MB limit when uploading an image on the "Sell" page. If you are having problems with the size of your images generated by your iPhone/iPad we suggest downloading and using the free "Simple Resize" App. Reducing the size of your photos also saves on your memory and makes sharing photos easier. 

I am having problems uploading multiple images on the "Sell" page

This is a glitch with iPhones/iPads as they save all the images with the same name, so unfortunately you can only upload one image if you are using your iPhone/iPad. If you want to add more, just use your desktop/laptop.  

I am having problems choosing categories for my item that I am selling

So this happens when you are using an iPhone or iPad and results in the selection box displaying "0 Items". If you click on the selection box, the categories that you have chosen will be shown. So please just carry on filing out the form as normal.

Why does the site look different on my computer etc ?

We promise we have tried to make this work on as many devices as possible. But there is always one that gets through the net. If you are having problems, please persist and try using an alternative browser for example, Google Chrome. You can always contact us with your queries at info@mylocalexchange.co.uk
